The Prague office of Eversheds Sutherland, in cooperation with the London-based law firm Stephenson Harwood, provided legal advisory to CITIC Group, one of the largest Chinese state-owned enterprises, in connection with the sale of Invia Group SE by European Bridge Travel a.s. (a joint venture of CITIC Group and Rockaway Capital) to WP Holding, a Polish company operating in the field of travel, e-commerce, advertising, and media. The Eversheds Sutherland transaction team was led by managing partner Bořivoj Líbal and senior associate Jan Houlík, supported by senior associate Eliška Miklíková, and junior associate Ondřej Reichl.

Their assistance consisted of the protection of CITIC Group’s interests in connection with the sale of shares in Invia Group and the negotiation of settlement between CITIC Group and Rockaway Capital, resulting in a successful exit of CITIC Group from the joint venture. Their advice included the negotiation of settlement documentation between CITIC Group and Rockaway Capital, including setting up and structuring the effective mechanism of the settlement, revision of the transaction documentation in connection with the sale of Invia Group, and assistance in connection with the signing and closing of all the relevant transactions.
